Charlotte Hodes, Dressed in Pattern

<div>The body of artworks that form 'Dressed in</div><div>Pattern' was the outcome of archival</div><div>research, funded by Arts Council England</div><div>(2014), into the English ceramic factory,</div><div>Spode’s archive of engraved copper plates.</div><div>The archive includes over 25,000 engraved</div><div>copper plates, dating back to 1780, from</div><div>which ceramic tissue transfer prints were</div><div>pulled and applied to ceramic ware. From</div><div>this archive, Hodes selected a small group</div><div>that included their early 19th century</div><div>celebrated ‘Picnic Tower’ and chintz</div><div>patterns, as a resource for new artworks.</div>
